[DINNER... BROUGHT TO YOU BY PINTEREST]

We are in the throes of a major move over here at the Flores household. Tomorrow we will be packing everything into a moving van and hitting the road for Texas. It's very exciting... and by exciting, I mean stressful, exhausting, make-me-want-to-take-a-3-day-nap tiring, but also completely wonderful.

And since we've been so busy getting ready for this move, I welcome any and everything that makes life easier lately. And my favorite thing right now that simplifies life is the Pinterest food section. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go spend 5 minutes looking through it. It has changed my life and it will change yours too. I think a lot of where I usually get stuck on cooking is just not knowing what to make, but those days are long gone now! I have gotten so many great ideas from Pinterest, and some of recipes that I've tried are out of this world delicious.

These are a few of my must-try's. I probably have a list about a hundred more after these. So thanks, Pinterest! You have made dinner a breeze.

[TREND WATCH: COLORED BLAZERS]

I love my black blazer. I do. It's one of the easiest and most versatile things I own. It goes with shorts, jeans, tank dresses, and can be dressed up or down. And do you know what I'm starting to love even more than black blazers? Colored blazers.

I love the pretty pops of color, and yes, I think even white counts as a color in this scenario. It's the perfect summer version of a winter outfit. And how great is that tux blazer? I like it very much.

It's just another one of those little things that makes me happy.

[GOING FOR THE GOLD]

Pardon the lame olympic-themed title... I couldn't help myself. Do you all remember in the 90's when none of us would be caught dead with gold accessories? My how times have changed. I resisted the gold trend for a while, but lately I just keep coming back to it. It's on jewelry, home accessories, hardware, even bikes for cryin' out loud! I've collected a few my favorites that I've seen lately.

[GET READY TEXAS...]

So I said last week that life might be getting pretty eventful soon, but I didn't know just how right I was, or how quickly things were about to change for us. Maurice and I have talked about moving back to Texas for a while, and he got a job offer in Austin a month or so ago, but it wasn't the right opportunity, so we decided to stick around Colorado a little longer. But then last week, not one but two job offers came in from San Antonio, and one was an opportunity that we just couldn't pass up. Sooo.....

We're moving back to Texas! This past week has just been a blur of telling family, apartment/house hunting, and moving arrangements, but we are just thrilled to be moving back to what is truly home for us, and to be close to our family and dearest friends again. It's definitely a bittersweet feeling, we truly love Colorado and are so grateful for the few years that we've spent here. I'm sure I'll shed a few tears as we pack up and drive away, but I am a Texas girl through and through, and I can't tell you how excited I am to be going home. So now we have 3 weeks to get everything in place, and get to San Antonio! It will be great.

By the way, can I also just say, I hate moving... I literally despise it. I just wanted to get that off my chest.

[JULY SNAPSHOTS]

Here's a brief look into our summer so far, via pictures from my phone. It hasn't been a terribly eventful summer, but there's a chance that could be changing soon, and once things get really busy, I will probably be glad that I had time to enjoy things like this.

1 :: Sometimes a date night with red lipstick is all I need to feel fancy again at the end of a long week.

2 :: Me and the rest of the world seem to love peonies, they'll always be my favorite, but I must say, hydrangeas are quickly climbing the list. How lovely are these?

3 :: The first of what I am now calling "Gelato and Manicure Sundays".

4 :: I recently learned that a great new pair of summer wedges can turn even the worst day around.

5 :: Not to brag, but sometimes I kind of knock dinner out of the park. This was one of those occasions.

6 :: Cupcakes. I mean...
