{blog crush: me oh my}

I realized it had been a while since I had posted a blog crush, and since I'm pretty much finding new blogs to follow on a daily basis, I feel like I should play a little bit of catch up. So... I'm kind of in love with Me Oh My.

Aside from the fact that she gives me some serious house envy, Nicole Davis from Me Oh My is one of those super stylish designers and super creative moms that just seems to have her act together. We don't have any children yet, but I feel fairly certain that when we do, my house and hair won't look as good as hers. But she's genuine and full of joy, and I love love love following her blog. Oh and that chevron print from the last post that I die for?... It's hers.

Hope you'll go and check it out. Think you'll love it!

{bold prints: chevron}

I am definitely a "less is more" kind of girl. A cluttered look, whether it's an outfit or a room, is kind of a pet peeve of mine, and knowing how and when to edit is key. All you really need to do is choose one bold piece and play everything else down. You've probably heard that concept applied to a lot of things... if you're going to wear a bright lip then play down your eyes, or if you're wearing chunky earrings then don't wear a statement necklace, etc etc. And one of my favorite ways to make a statement lately has been anything in a bold chevron print.

I think there's something about a chevron print (stripes work too) that is a great attention grabber, but is still a simple enough print to not feel like you've gone overboard. I've seen this everywhere lately, and I hope it sticks around for a while, because it's a favorite of mine and I think it's lovely.

{throwback love}

One thing that I continually find myself gravitating towards lately are tortoiseshell sunglasses. They've been popping up everywhere, and I'm pretty much in love the retro throwback look. I tend to go for pieces that go with almost anything, and I think these definitely qualify.

Of course Ray Ban makes a classic pair of these, but I've also spotted them at Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Banana. And if you're looking for a budget-friendly pair, hitting up F21 or H&M is always a pretty good bet. Happy shopping, my friends.

{happy weekend}

Very excited to be spending the week in San Antonio this week. After 2 years, Krista has finally arrived home from Africa and I am looking forward to getting to spending some long overdue quality time with her, meeting my brand new niece on Monday, catching up with family and dear friends, and eating some seriously delicious food. Going to be a great week, and I am a happy girl.
