[GOING FOR THE GOLD]

July 30th, 2012 by Kelli

Pardon the lame olympic-themed title… I couldn’t help myself. Do you all remember in the 90′s when none of us would be caught dead with gold accessories? My how times have changed. I resisted the gold trend for a while, but lately I just keep coming back to it. It’s on jewelry, home accessories, hardware, even bikes for cryin’ out loud! I’ve collected a few my favorites that I’ve seen lately.

So what about you… how often do you wear gold, and how long do you think this trend will stick around?

  1. Oh I am in LOVE with gold accents around the house too! And gold jewelry! My ring is silver and my watch has gold, so I’ve been wanting to get a real thin cheap gold costume wedding band to add to it, so it all balances out! :) I haven’t seen gold plumbing though yet, wow …awesome interior touch!! Love the warmth of gold.

  2. In fact I tried on an inexpensive thin gold band months ago at Michael Kors (before the whole lost my ring thing happen, booo) and now that I have a ring again, I went in there and their discontinued -ugh! So I looked at Pandora’s -sheesh their like in the $200+ range -I only want to spend like $90max… any other ideas for nice cheap costume rings like that?! I knew if anyone would know -you’d be the best help!

  3. Thanks friend! aren’t the rings gorgeous? I have totally had the same ring/watch dilemma. I totally want a gold watch, but it won’t match my wedding rings! Not sure where to look for a ring, but I will keep my eyes peeled for you.

I LOVE GOLD… I hated it for SO long because all I could think about was my Grandma always having gold all over her clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc… barf. But now… I almost prefer gold to silver! I like warmer tones anyway & I find it easier to pair gold jewelry with my clothes… either way. I love this. I must have that precious dish.
I also love your blog. The end.
